Truck Showcases How Solar Energy Could Power the Sunshine State WHO: Greenpeace Clean Energy Campaigners, Experts on Global Warming, and Others…speakers will include Dr. John Winchester from the Department of Oceanography, FSU, and Debra Swim, Senior Attorney with the Legal Environmental Assistance Foundation WHAT: Press conference and photo opportunity in front of the "Rolling Sunlight," a truck that features 256 square feet of solar panels, enough power to energize three energy efficient homes WHERE: Capitol Courtyard WHEN: Monday, October 7, 2002 at 10:00AM WHY: The press conference is one of the first stops on the Greenpeace Rolling Sunlight tour of Florida from October 5 – October 24, 2002. The tour is intended to raise the issues of global warming and clean energy solutions in the Florida elections, particularly the gubernatorial race. Greenpeace has a five-point position that would spark the growth of clean energy while moderating the threats of global warming. Greenpeace is urging all political candidates in Florida to support a statewide Global Warming Action Plan.
