Keeping track of your energy consumption is a great way to keep focused on unnecessary energy use and possible waste. In order to help you along with that task Heart of the Earth provides the following simple data forms that can be submitted to our organization to help you keep track of your efforts to reduce energy consumption and thereby reduce CO2 emissions that add to global warming.
These data forms are aimed at capturing two types of primary energy use common to everyone in society, residential operations and transportation. Members are encouraged to fill out these forms and provide us with your preference of email or snail mail so we can communicate your annualized projections on just how well you're doing on reducing CO2 emissions (Remember email helps your organization save money). Your energy and dollar savings of course will be immediately apparent.
To gather information about your energy use associated with your residential operations and gasoline use for transportation, we'll need to compare your energy and gasoline usage before and after you became a member of Heart of the Earth. In order to do that we'll compare your energy consumption for the year before you became a member with the year after membership. Thereafter, you can compare your current year's usage with the previous year to track your continued progress. So provide your name, address, utility company, and energy and gasoline consumption on the following forms and send them along to us so we can compute your energy savings and the resulting reduction in CO2 emissions. Be sure and check out the "What You Can Do" section of our website to learn of simple energy saving tips.
Your household/apartment energy consumption is a major portion of your overall energy use. Keeping track of usage helps you identify your good and bad energy use habits. There are many simple ways to conserve energy in your everyday life.
Transportation is an issue each one of us faces every day as we leave our homes to run errands or to go to work or school. There are many ways to limit our dependence on cars including walking, bicycling, buying energy efficient vehicles, car-pooling and combining trips for increased efficiency.
